How to enter BlackBerry unlock code

To apply/enter BlackBerry unlock code in your phone there are two paths to follow after you have obtained your unlock code. The two ways are presented below:

Warning! For any of the unlock methods you have a total of 10 attempts to enter BlackBerry unlock code. If you exhaust all 10 attempts, your phone will be permanently blocked.

Method 1.-Insert a SIM from another operator

1. Insert a SIM card of a new operator and turn on your phone, you will be asked to enter your code.

2. Enter the full 8 or 16 digit unlock code you received via email and then press the enter / return key. You will receive a message that will indicate that the code was accepted or simply take you directly to your home screen.

3. Return to the home screen and then restart your phone (remove the battery and then reinsert it). Now you should be unlocked !.

Method 2. – Unlock the Hidden Menu

1. Navigate to the SIM card menu.

  • Open the Options application.
  • Select device.
  • Select the advanced system configuration.
  • Select SIM card.

Once you are on the SIM card screen, you will enter two sets of commands.

NOTE: No character will be displayed on the screen when you type the commands.

2. Hold down the SHIFT key and type “mepd” (without the quotes), a new screen should appear showing if your phone is locked or not. If your phone is locked, you will see the word “Active” or “Activated” next to “Network”.
If that does not work, try holding the ALT key while typing “mepd”. Do not worry, this does not count for your number of attempts.

3. Hold down the ALT key and type “mepe” (without the quotes). Now you should be asked to enter your unlock code.

4. Enter the full 8 or 16 digit unlock code you received via email and then press the enter key. You will receive a message that will indicate that the code was accepted or simply take you directly to your home screen.

5. Return to the home screen and then restart your phone (remove the battery and then reinsert it). Now you should be unlocked!

Method 3 — Unlock the hidden menu (Only for models with Touch screen)

Deactivate all connections in the phone (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Network) before starting.

1. Navigate to the SIM card menu

• Open the Options application (the one that looks like a key)
• Select the device
• Select the advanced system configuration
• Select SIM card

NOTE: No character will be displayed on the screen when you type the commands.

2.Type “mepd” (without the quotation marks), a new screen should appear showing if your phone is locked or not. If your phone is locked, you will see the word “Active” or “Activated” next to “Network”.

If that does not work, try holding the ALT or SHIFT key while typing “mepd”. Do not worry, this does not count for your number of attempts.

3. Type mep2
• Type “mep” (without SHIFT / UPPERCASE)
• Press and release the “&% 123” key and then press the number “2”.
• Now you should be asked to enter your unlock code.

4. Enter the full 8 or 16 digit unlock code you received via email and then press the enter / return key. You will receive a message that will indicate that the code was accepted or simply take you directly to your home screen.

5. Return to the home screen and then restart your phone. Now you should be unlocked!
